Consultation Centre

Welcome to our consultation centre, the part of our hub designed to challenge the problem of real people being too far away from decision-making processes. This is a platform for all up and coming consultations that affect care in any way, or any democratic process of decision-makers asking what people think of services or what should change.

We will post the details, deadlines and any plans we have to support people to respond or learn more about those consultations such as webinars, podcasts, web chats as well as tips for communicating your opinions and experiences so that it has the best chance of fairly influencing any decisions being made about policy, practice or funding.

Please get in touch if there are health or social care consultations which you feel need to be on our radar to help widen the debate and engagement and to “coproduce care”

DHSC Consultation: Improving how the NHS helps prevent ill-health

The deadline for the Department of Health and Social Care’s consultation on what they can do to improve how we prevent ill-health is 14th Octoboer
We have an Eventbrite page set up for our free webinar discussion – 9th October
Use this page to get an invite for your diary, and to receive all the details about joining our online event on the day. We are going to look more deeply into some of the key parts of this review and also build a joint response to submit to the government.

Details:

This consultation revolves around recent moves in the health and care sector to use technology and personalisation to make more interconnected services that proactively promote wellbeing and independence throughout your life, rather than have to react to people’s health as it develops. Although this is a great value, this consultation needs to gauge the level to which you can prescribe ways of life and assess health in a fair and useful way. The portal breaks this down into a range of chapters that will help if you have one or two specific suggestions but may be too long and specialised for more general responses about what is important to people if we are to change the NHS on such a large scale. This is a big consultation with some important implications, the webinar for this event should be key to submitting effective suggestions.
